I had to look up Farnes Islands, not knowing where they were, and was charmed by this detail: “… 15 to 20 islands, depending on the state of the tide.” I realize it is factual, but it is also wonderful. Brought to mind the time, in Calgary, I asked a Parks & Rec fellow how many km of urban skiing trails they had & he replied, “It depends on the amount of snow.”
